You are right, that I want to provide end-to-end solutions for customers, that is where UMH will provide the biggest value imo, so a cutting edge application layer build on top of it seems like the right thing to do. Why not do it in Odoo? Because Odoo is not suiteable for real manufacturing-cases: - No good dashboarding capabilities - It's not build to handle datachanges per second - Their licensing model is not one I like for manufactering cases where you go per site - I don't want production being slowed down everytime someone pulls a report from sales for example, those things should not be mixed imo. - Odoo is not natively built for tags, alarming, ... . That is something I would want to build into it. - Odoo is nice, but it's built on top of it's own framework, which is also falling behind the modern frameworks
