Hi guys. You might have seen me popping up here occasionally. I've been following you guys and I see good potential for the future of UMH. What gives me most confidence is the knowledge you guys have about the stuff you're doing, AND the huge focus on sticking to the product, which in my eyes is being the I4.0 backbone for any industrial company. Thanks to @Brian Pribe and @Diederik for showing a lot of the UMH stuff you guys are doing. That said, I've never used UMH for a project, mainly because Ignition has been such a strong platform to give good value for my customers. That is changing. I see Ignition is falling behind on some places in this AI-era, where the nature of developing has been changed (not to say Ignition is still our bread and butter). With the help of @Diederik, we potentially have a new customer (being decided 1th of August), where we would use UMH as the open UNS-backbone. The way I see it, UMH has one thing left completely open, that is the frontend applications. At this customer, we want to start building a new tool: The Odoo for manufacturing (name in progress), an OpenCore industrial application platform, no low-code, but an AI enabled React frontend, with a core built for ISA95, tags and building MES functionality. This application will plug in UMH as a datasource as a first goal, so we would heavily rely on UMH as our source of UNS. So we will let UMH focus on PLC -> UNS -> Historian, where we will focus on MES Applications building, and being a data platform, which also should solve what @Diederik was asking for on how to get data easily to end users. We will start very small, but hopefully, this can become something that really helps the industry forward. I'm very curious what are other peoples thoughts on building a platform like this on top of UMH, definitely curious what the people for UMH think. Always up for a sparring session on how this could or would work!
