I remember long ago we had a discussion about this. First we discussed the _historian and _live etc. to have different structures if it was to go to storage or for live data and then we had some discussion about grouping where you could group using underscore. I also think we discussed some other levels of tags that could be useful. like /sensors/digital and/or /signals/temperature /signals/digital but i do not recall we ever wrote it down.
