well. not quite. it is basically the same as the umh-protoctols work but instead of writing the entire protocol you include plc4x as the input and leverage their drivers. This could be a quite good way to do it but if there are any problems with the protocol you need to talk to apache instead of umh.. So from the pov i understand if Jeremy want's to write their own protocols. this way they have full control if there are problems.
