Can't for the life of me get flatcar on VMware Workstation to work....I can get all the way through to where I create an instance, execute the install script....and it never connects to the management console....
1. create VM in VMware with linux kernel, 16GB ram, 128GB storage, enable UEFI bios
2. Download the latest -efi.iso and mount that to the VM cd drive
3. Boot VM
4. Answer Flatcar Questions
5. Flatcar finishes
6. Create Instance in console
7. Connect to instance with SSH
8. Paste in script to terminal
9. Wait for install, answer IP address, and host name questions
10. Wait more for install
11. Wait more for install
12. Shutdown when complete
13. Disconnect ISO from VM CD
14. Boot VM
15. Arrives at the gray login line "flatcar-1-umh-VMware-56 login:"
16. Never shows connected in managment console.
I previously had instances, but deleted them.
I was running on Ubuntu and it was working fine, with the exception of saying it was an unsupported OS.
I wanted to get closer to the "supported" method with flatcar, but it's proving difficult for me.
I have since deleted the VM multiple times, redownloaded the iso and followed the steps multiple times....no luck....each time deleting the vm and the instance in the console.
