now i have this strange but again which i had before.. i think this have something to do with have different time zones in the database and grafana.. for some reason in some graphs the data points in the graph is correct but it is 1h behind in time timescale so it stretches out.. this does not occur when showing the last hour.. it happens when the timespan is last 3 and last 6 hours.. any idea if this is from grafana or the datasource? @Ferdinand @Jermuk

the database timezone by default is Etc/UTC. Grafana also uses UTC, and automatically sets the shift depending on your browser settings. therefore the conversion of unix timestamps should be correct. are you sure that the displayed values are correct? if you switch to table view, does the values change for the same timestamp (like in this issue https://github.com/grafana/grafana/issues/46408). assuming that you didn't change timestamps in the database, and that the values are correct, it might just be a graphical problem with grafana. neither the datasource plugin nor factoryinsight modify the timestamps
d
The displayed values are correct in our local time which is +1 . the points in the graph shows the correct value when i hover over them. it is in the time axis in the graph that shows wrong time when i have the time settings to now-1h and now-3h.. when i have now-6h it displays correct.. This does not happen all the time, it is only from time to time.. very strange..

the fact that it only happens sometimes, just with those time settings, and only for the axis the displayed time is not correct, really makes me think that it could be a problem related to grafana itself. the datasource is not responsible for the plotting, but only for he querying. maybe I could open an issue on Grafana's GH and see what they say

@DaruZero I know they can be visualization errors if the data is not ordered correctly or Contains Syntax error. @DanielH if you encounter this error, could you provide us with the data that is supposed to be shown (maybe via PM). In grafana there is alike a debug window where you can see exactly what the datasource provided you. Maybe include your current time to it, so that we can check the time. Do a couple of screenshots and then there should be an export button or something similar
d
yeah, but the thing is that the data is actually correct, if i understood correctly
d
yes, the data is correct so it feels like there is a visualization bug in grafana or some error when requesting data from the source?
j
can you check whether the data is actually correct by going into the debug mode and doing the screenshots? I've seen that there are grafana bugs related to that
d
at the moment it displays correct but now the machines is stopped.. i will look when it's back on if i can catch some more data
