The most benefit i can see is the management and OTA.. besides from that i see very little use of the cloud for embedded devices.. but i depends a little what you mean with embedded devices... if talking IoT, most devices are embedded and they will have to send the data somewhere... for computing most benefits is to use the embedded device and only send computed data to the cloud.. unless there are great benefits in sending all the raw data..
