Dear UMH Community, I would like to gather your opinion on our project. We plan to expand our cyber-physical brewing laboratory with energy sensors. The current architecture setup is as follows: A Raspberry Pi 4 functions as the edge gateway and OPC-UA server. The OPC-UA server communicates with the edge gateway. The Raspberry Pi processes the incoming data using Node-RED. Various components send their data to the Raspberry Pi, including a Bluetooth tilt hydrometer and a PLC, which is read out via OPC-UA. In the long term, the Raspberry Pi will be replaced by an industrial computer (Karbon 300 compact rugged industrial PC). The goal is to measure the power consumption data of the brewhouse, fermentation and storage tanks, as well as our peripherals. For this purpose, current transformers (ENTES ENT.A30MN 400/5 current transformer,1-phase, primary current 400 A, secondary current 5 A, conductor passage Ø20 mm, screw-fixed) will be used. They will be indirectly used for measurement via a Siemens Sentreon device (Siemens 7KM2200-2EA30-1DA1 SENTRON PAC2200 meter, 3-phase, 5 A, DIN rail, Modbus RTU). The Siemens Sentreon devices will be read out using the Modbus RTU protocol, for which a Modbus master and gateway (TRN TI-M42 Modbus Gateway, 4-port, RS-232/RS-422/RS-485) is going to be used. In addition, a water meter (pFlow Wall-Mount Ultrasonic Water Flowmeter with 4-20mA RS485 Modbus) will be connected to the Modbus. The Modbus gateway will be connected to the Raspberry Pi/IPC via the OPC-UA server. The physical connection is established by an ethernet cable. I would like to know if the sensor setup via the gateway and the OPC UA server works as I envision it. I would be happy about general comments and suggestions for improvement. In the following you can see the layout of our laboratory.
