What's Changing for You? A lot, and at the same time not much: - **"Unified Namespace" Focus**: We're going all-in on this topic. With more time and resources, we aim to enhance the user experience for those on the shop floor connecting factory systems. Our goal is to empower everyone, whether in IT or OT, to easily utilize the most powerful IT and OT tools. We're making significant progress in evolving our Management Console into a one-stop shop for all your factory IT and OT tools. We're just at the beginning, but you can check out our current work at management.umh.app - **Reliability, Scalability, and Maintainability**: These are the core pillars of the UMH. We're expanding our test suite to cover more edge cases and load tests. This ensures easy usage of UMH and helps us significantly outperform current market offerings. We're thinking in terms of tens or hundreds of millions of data points per second, leveraging systems like MQTT, Kafka, TimescaleDB. - **Strong Commitment to Open Source and Community**: Nearly a year ago, we adopted the very permissive Apache 2.0 license, and we'll continue publishing UMH under it. All of the best IT infrastructure tools are open-source as well (see: Linux, Docker or Kubernetes). Your usage, feedback, and even corrections in our documentation have been invaluable. In a world of closed-source, B2B tools, having an infrastructure that's been battle-tested in real-world scenarios and being able to communicate directly with users is priceless.
